Nonprofit Works was a multi-phase, multi-year opportunity for mature nonprofit organizations in Central Louisiana to work with highly trained consultants to expand their governance, organization development, and leadership capacities. This program was active from 2008 to 2014, with 19 grants awarded to local nonprofits within the Foundation's service area.
Organizations selected to participate in the program receive consultant time with local experts for facilitated board and administrative sessions, retreats, trainings and facilitated peer-learning opportunities. Community Development Works facilitates the networking and peer-learning opportunities. The nonprofit organizations work with local consultants who help them develop solutions to issues and situations that have been impeding their performance as well as planning dynamically for an expanding future.
Program Cohorts are those local nonprofit organizations who have been selected to participate in Nonprofit Works, a two year capacity building program of Community Development Works. Since 2009 nine organizations have received grants from The Rapides Foundation to participate in the program. These organizations receive consultant time with local experts for facilitated board and administrative sessions, retreats,
trainings and facilitated peer-learning opportunities.
