Community Development Works has partnered with 15 high schools in five local school districts to offer service clubs for students to engage in volunteer opportunities. These clubs are led by designated school faculty and utilize an evidence-based model developed by Youth Volunteer Corps.
To strengthen the program, My Civic Life is guided by a Youth Advisory Board (YAB). The YAB is comprised of students who are heavily involved in their local high school YVC Club. In addition to providing feedback to CDW staff, the members will also receive leadership development training from national experts to take back to their YVC Club.
The Youth Volunteer Connection is a quick and easy resource to connect youth interested in volunteering with local nonprofits that are offering volunteer opportunities. Potential volunteers can create a profile, select their areas of interest, and see what the volunteer needs are at their local nonprofits. The Youth Volunteer Connection is open to any youth between the ages of 13-18 who is looking to get involved!
