Established in 2004, MEI (Micro-Enterprise Institute, Inc.) a 501(C)(3) tax-exempt organization was formed as a non-profit, community based, economic development organization specializing in assisting individuals, and businesses that have between one to five employees. Whether the business is the sole source of family income or a crucial supplement to family earnings, micro-enterprise development has put many families on the road to self-sufficiency. Our business development services are designed to meet the needs of specific target groups such as welfare recipients, minorities, women, the working poor, young people, businesses located in rural areas, non-profit organizations, and individuals or business sectors that lack access to financial resources and business coaching.
