Tom Harmeyer is an independent consultant, writer, producer and presenter who serves non-profit organizations with their fundraising, planning, communications, marketing and promotional needs. Beginning in 1985 and for the next 17 years, Tom served on the professional staffs of such organizations as the New Orleans Museum of Art, Father Flanagan's Boys Town, and the Ochsner Clinic Foundation, where he directed annual and capital campaigns raising more than $50 million and managed a variety of print and electronic media projects. He earned distinction as a Certified Fund Raising Executive in 1991 and was recognized as the Outstanding Fund Raising Executive in 1996 by the Association of Fundraising Professionals-Greater New Orleans Chapter. In 2002, Tom founded Harmeyer Creative Solutions where he draws upon both his writing skills and fundraising experience to help local and regional organizations define, communicate and pursue their missions. HCS has helped Central Louisiana clients raise more than $11 million and has produced dozens of effective publications, videos and other media projects to support clients' good work. Lifelong New Orleanians, Tom and his wife, Terri, have two teenage children, Jackson and Emilie. Since Hurricane Katrina in August 2005, the Harmeyers have established themselves in Central Louisiana.
