What is Cenla Boardbuilders?
The CDW Cenla Boardbuilders Program provides a unique opportunity for emerging professionals in Cenla to become active in their community as members of local nonprofit Boards of Directors.
Who Should Participate?
Professionals identified by their employer as "up and coming" leaders with a desire to become involved in the community.
Interested individuals who may be retired, self-employed, or looking for higher-level volunteer opportunities.
Nonprofit board members who are in need of an orientation to their new role on a board.
Participants are trained through a series of sessions in the roles and responsibilities of being an effective Board member.
Participants may pursue two learning tracks for the program: Track I - for newly seated board members with limited service experience (1 to 2 years) who are only seeking training and Track II - for individuals with no previous board service who are seeking training and assistance with identifying a nonprofit match.
Cenla employers are encouraged to participate in the Cenla Boardbuilders Program by sponsoring their best and brightest emerging professionals for participation in the program. Sponsorship includes providing the employee with time off during work hours to attend training sessions and Board meetings. This is a perfect opportunity for employer partners to play a role in community development as well as provide a meaningful professional development opportunity to their employees.
To date the program has one hundred and thirty-eight (138) Cenla Boardbuilders Alumni. To participate in the 2013 program either as a participant, nonprofit partner, or employer partner, call 318.443.7880 or 1.800.803.8075 and obtain additional information.
